Funding cost calculator

What it costs to hold a position, using the venue’s real settlement interval — the same $10,000 position for 30 days costs $90.00 on Bybit against $60.15 on Hyperliquid. Opens on ADA ($0.24612 mark on Hyperliquid) with Hyperliquid as your venue, which settles every 1 hour.

Holding $10,000 of ADA long for 30 days $90.00 the dearest venue — Bybit; the cheapest is Hyperliquid at $60.15
Hyperliquid $60.15 1h Binance $83.43 8h Bybit $90.00 8h

The identical position, priced on each venue’s own settlement interval rather than on the assumption that they match. Amber is a cost to you, cyan is a payment received.

Funding is charged on notional, not on your margin. At 10× the position is 10 times your margin, so the same funding is 10 times as large a share of the capital you put up as of the position — which is why a carry that looks negligible as an APR can be the largest line in a leveraged position’s P&L.

Where the daily reading goes wrong

Venues quote funding per settlement, not per day. Hyperliquid settles every 1 hour, so a 30-day hold crosses 720 settlements, not 30. Treating the quoted figure as a daily rate understates the cost of this hold 24×.

Same position, every venue

The same $10,000 long over 30 days on each venue. Cost is the funding you pay; a minus means funding paid to you. amber = longs pay shorts · cyan = shorts pay longs.
